Aim of the seminar

The aim of the seminar is to identify and encourage project ideas within Comenius projects, promote the exchanges of ideas, information and experiences between the participating organizations and to form partnership for future projects.

Focus of the seminar

Possible themes for school projects:

• Self-evaluation forms and functions
• Self-evaluation methods and techniques in a teaching/learning process
• Student self-assessment criteria development
• Student self-assessment management in different parts of the lessons
• Self-evaluation as one of the types of learning
• Pedagogical resources for development of self-assessment skills
• Criteria of teachers self-evaluation for improve of professional mastery
• The student’s self-evaluation portfolio
• The teacher’s self-evaluation portfolio
• The formation of self-assessment skills of students in different concrete school subject

Target group

Participants should be teachers and head teachers for pupils aged 7 – 18, from secondary and primary schools.
We can accommodate up to 4 participants from each country plus a representative of the National Agency.

Colleagues from National Agencies are kindly asked to inform State Education Development Agency of Latvia about the planned number of places by 15th September and exact number of participants by 15th October.

Invited countries

The contact seminar is for Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) countries.

Language

The working language of the contact seminar will be English.

Cost

The fee for participation is €500 and this includes accommodation for 4 nights and all meals during the seminar, accommodation, sightseeing and transport from and to Riga Airport.

Grants

Participants can apply for grants to their National LLP Agencies to cover travel expenses and seminar fee.

Please note that the organizers will book accommodation for the nights of the seminar only (10^th, 11^th, 12^th, 13^th November). Participants who arrive before/stay after those dates will be responsible for making their own arrangements.

Arrival from the airport to the hotel:

After the arrival take the shuttle bus to the Hotel Islande (in front of the terminal arrival sector E, at street level near the taxi stop).
